Healing Servant — driven by measurable impact!
My public health journey began in a Soviet Union prison hospital, where I worked as a young nurse and medical student, caring for tuberculosis patients amid Soviet Union collapse. From there, my path spanned all continents—through crises, disasters, and wars—into the halls of the WHO, where science meets urgent human need.
Every step has taught me: purpose thrives where light meets the world’s darkest corners.
Currently serving as WHO Representative to Kyrgyzstan, my career has taken me from pandemic preparedness and health emergencies to leadership roles in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas —responding to outbreaks, strengthening health systems, and coordinating crisis responses.
Before the WHO, I worked with UN agencies, NGOs, and philanthropic organizations, including the Open Society Institute and the International Rescue Committee.
Fluent in English, French, Romanian and Russian and working knowledge of a few other languages, I embrace every opportunity to learn new languages, deepening connections wherever I serve.
